Companies that specialize in teaching people to dance, such as the Ballroom Dance Factory, offer a wide variety of dance lesson types and lessons for different dance styles. There is typically something to accommodate every preference and experience level. Those who are interested in casual and fun classes, for example, can walk-in on the Country Line Dance class for beginners. They are held on specific Sunday afternoons, are for beginners, require no pre-registration, and the low flat rate for the two-hour class is payable at the door. It is a great way to try out a class, determine if it is something to continue, and discover what other beginner classes are available.

Schedules for classes in each level at each location are available on the website. The Ballroom Dance Factory Nassau County NY, for example, has three separate classes for beginners that start in January. All classes are four weeks in duration, and pre-registration is required. People can select ballroom dance basics, which include learning the Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango. Latin dance basics include the Cha Cha, Salsa, Rumba, and others. The hustle and swing basics involve learning the Hustle, Lindy, and East Coast Swing. Private lessons are also offered at all Ballroom Dance Factory locations.

Group lessons for intermediate and advanced level dancers run for either two or four weeks at a time. They are continuations of existing classes, so be sure to double check the schedule before registering for a class. Some classes, for example, have been going on for two months, while others have been going on for four or seven months. Dancers are encouraged to call with any questions to make sure they are enrolled in the right class. Most classes are held in the evening to accommodate those who work full-time during the day. It is important to note that classes are open for single dancers as well as couples. There is no prerequisite that excludes those without a partner from participating. Learning to dance with different people is a quick way to hone skills, and become flexible. Dancing is fun, affordable, and excellent exercise so does not hesitate to start lessons.
